this just shows by partaking in such blatant tomfoolery really speaks volumes on her IQ and how she truly feels about black history in a month such as this. Do you think Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Areatha Franklin would reduce to such stupidity.NO WAY, why? They know the inner pain of racism and how delicate this issue is and was for them as young artist.Beyonce has no understanding of music history, so how is she suppose to appreicate and understand legendary artist struggles that helped paved the way for her. No wonder many has lost all respect for her. Where has she been, isn't she aware of the sensitivity on this heart felt issue. Why would she succumd to such degrading ' tribute' is unspeakable.
#Beyonce best thing i never had j rice full
Means well but tries a little too hard to e "I wanna be Latina", see "a storage house full of lacefronts", see "I want to create my own genre", see "If I wanted to gain twenty pounds I could've", see "I want to be the first Black female to win an Oscar, Tony, Grammy, Nobel Peace Prize, Dunkin Donuts consumer of the month prize, etc.", see "My parents never had to use me to get out of a bad situation", see "I believe God wants us to celebrate our sexuality and feel free to whine and grind on a stripper pole in front of an audience of 20,000", see "Why don't YOU love ME, when I make it so easy to LOVE ME?", etc.Īs i stated in another post, this is a slap and ultimate insult to artist that came before beyonce.Josephine Baker fought hard and long to end the minstrel image that plagued black artist in the 20's and 30's and to see this girl demolish that up hill struggle, its differcult to comprehend. That was a beautiful layout with images and message everybody got without being offended. I'm reminded of another photoshoot she did, one in which she donned a large afro and wore (and assumed) "Black Power" circa 1960s/Angela Davis mannerisms and stance. She plain looks ridiculous half-painted with splotches of neon on her face. The fashions are wonderful and the majority of the images look great. French mags get away, yet again, with doing Blackface, only this time it's "okay" because it's Beyonce. Sometimes her 'simplicity' shines through.
#Beyonce best thing i never had j rice skin
She would've faired well having stayed in her own skin and called the photoshoot a tribute to "African Queens". The physical execution is okay mediocre been there, done that, but the overall message slashed with her intent? She can paint herself whatever color she likes, but to say she's representing Fela Kuti? Just because Black designers' clothing was used, just because a Black team of stylists, makeup artists, and subjects were used DOESNT MAKE IT RIGHT. ART will always raise an eyebrow or two you don't have to agree so if u mad im sure u the type to still be upset about the word its 2011 grow some and move on address real shit and stop bitchin bout things that can't feed u nor clothe u. we did that we performed in black face not white people they did it later they act like us while we embrace what they thought was degrading and we rose from that. FUNNY how people are mad that another black person whether she wants to be our not whether she wants to look spanish (cuz she always has looked super black even as a child smh)did the black face rather than the white models doin runway now doin it. now either you can be hurt and affected by OUR HISTORY or you can see that it no longer affects us. tyra banks has done it that stirred emotions too. wouldn't nobody care if the pics weren't of beyonce. some will find the pics beautiful some won't. The black face is what them designers thought would further their artistic venture now whether people agree with it or not that is usually the case with any form of art some will agree and some won't.
